Welcome to the Doom docs
New here? Start with the DoomClient guide — it walks you from your first download to your first game, and explains every module and setting. The pages below cover your account, licensing and support.
Security
Your license is tied to two things: your Discord account and the PC it was first used on. Nobody can use your key on another machine without a reset from a discord ticket, and nobody can claim your license without access to your Discord account.
- Turn on two-factor authentication for Discord — it's the single best way to protect your purchase.
- Never share your license key or your Discord login. Shared keys break the rules and will be revoked.
HWID
HWID (“hardware ID”) is how your license knows it's running on your PC. It's built from your hardware, contains nothing personal, and keeps your key from working on someone else's machine.
Your HWID only changes when the machine changes — for example when:
- You get a new PC or laptop.
- You reinstall Windows.
- You replace major hardware (motherboard or CPU).
Any of those is fine — open a Discord ticket and Request a HWID Reset, then launch DoomClient on the new machine.
Discord Login
Doom uses Discord accounts so your purchase, license and resets all live in one place. On your first launch, DoomClient shows a Sign in with Discord button — it opens your browser, you approve, and you're done. You only sign in once per PC.
- Use the Discord account you bought with — a different account is a different customer and won't see your license.
- Renaming your Discord account changes nothing — licenses follow the account, not the name.
- Switching accounts? Click Sign out in DoomClient, then sign in with the other account.
FAQ
I just bought — how do I get the client?
Open your Dashboard on the website and download DoomClient. Sign in in the app with the same Discord account and you're ready to launch. The full walkthrough is in Install & Launch.
What do I need to run it?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC (64-bit) and Minecraft Java Edition 1.8.9. It doesn't run on Mac or Linux.
Windows or my antivirus flags DoomClient — is that normal?
Yes, and it's expected for game clients — they change how another program behaves, which antivirus tools dislike by default. Download only from the official website, and if your antivirus blocks it anyway, add the DoomClient folder to your exclusions.
Can I use my license on a second PC?
One PC at a time. Moving is easy — reset your HWID from the Dashboard (see HWID), then launch DoomClient on the new machine.
Can I share my license with a friend?
No — licenses are personal, and sharing one breaks the rules and can get it revoked. Your friend can grab their own key from the store.
Will I get banned?
No client can promise that. Doom is built to stay out of sight and most servers won't notice casual use — but every server is different, so use your head on the ones you care about.
How do updates work?
DoomClient checks for updates automatically and offers them when they're ready — one click to install. You can also check manually from its Settings tab.
Something is broken — how do I get help?
Join our Discord and open a ticket. Tell us what happened and attach the log from DoomClient's Settings → View error logs — it answers most questions before we even ask.
How do I uninstall?
Open DoomClient → Settings → Delete local files, then delete the DoomClient app itself. That removes everything.
Changelog
Every release is listed right in DoomClient — open it and check What's new on the Home tab. Bigger releases are also announced in our Discord.
